Privacy policy
This explains what Career Hub collects when you visit careerhubblog.com, why, and what you can do about it.
Career Hub is a blog. There are no user accounts, no logins, and no newsletter. Most visitors read an article and leave, and in that case the only data involved is described under “Analytics” below.
What we collect
If you use the contact form. Your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, which hosts this site. We use this to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent, or share it.
If you email us directly. Whatever is in your email, held in our inbox with our email provider.
Automatically, when any page loads. Standard web server information: your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, the page you requested, and the page that referred you. This is normal server logging and is handled by Netlify.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which articles get read and roughly where readers come from. It sets cookies in your browser and reports usage data to Google. We look at aggregate patterns, not individuals, and we have no interest in identifying you.
If you would rather not be counted, use Google’s browser opt-out add-on, turn on your browser’s tracking protection, or block cookies for this site. Nothing on the site breaks if you do.
What we don’t do
- No advertising networks and no ad-targeting pixels.
- No affiliate tracking.
- No selling or renting of personal information, ever.
- No accounts, so no passwords to lose.
Cookies
The only cookies set by this site are Google Analytics cookies, described above. You can block or delete them in your browser settings at any time.
Links to other sites
Articles occasionally link elsewhere. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies, and the destination site’s own practices govern.
How long we keep things
Contact form submissions and emails are kept as long as they’re useful for correspondence, and deleted when they aren’t. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s settings for our property.
Your choices
Write to info@careerhubblog.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We’ll act on it. If you’re in a jurisdiction with specific data rights, such as the UK, EU, or California, say so and we’ll handle the request under those rules.
Children
This site is written for working adults and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Contact form data sits with Netlify under their security practices. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t promise absolute protection, but there’s very little here to protect: we hold no passwords, no payment details, and no accounts.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it.
